Primitive Camping...

In times such as these it seems that one of my favorite pasttimes is not far from gaining a bit more of my attention - even at this time of year...

I like to go camping - primitive style - that is.

Maybe it's because I've not had the opportunity to do it in luxury - which to me doesn't really make sense - what would "luxury" camping be anyway? The whole idea is to share the abundance of nature and for me that would be difficult with anything but the vital necessities. Although I am contemplating at least using a pop-up camper in the near future...

Anyway, there's something about spending the night listening to the sporadic snaps from glowing embers and the periodic call of a Whipoorwill mingled in with the soothing chirps of crickets.

It may seem strange to some folks to think about primitive camping at this time of year. But, this is actually the best time of year to "think" about it. That is mainly because there's plenty of time to plan for the ideal weather conditions (albeit maybe some rain) come Springtime...

So, in future posts I'll make every effort to put out some information on a regular basis as I prepare for the next "excursion" and welcome any comments (within reason) and/or questions you may have.
